I am not the most outstanding, nor the smartest, nor the most skilled in the technical department, but I have never underestimated myself.

People are inherently different, with variations in natural talents and upbringing environments, making it impossible for us to be like certain exceptional individuals.

All we can do is treat them as a distant lighthouse and gradually move closer to them.

How can we improve ourselves at work?

(1) Quickly integrate into the team

   Growth within a team is the most direct and fastest. First, we must clarify our role in the team, align our work with the progress of the entire technical department, and arrange our tasks reasonably to play our part effectively. Next, we need to interact with others in a gentle manner. Men's wisdom lies in "strength and firmness," while women's wisdom lies more in "softness and resilience." We should learn to compromise with a hint of persistence and to be assertive without being stubborn. Finally, we must understand cooperation, which is more about complementing each other than demanding that others align with us in every way.

(2) Make small progress every day and turn small tasks into masterpieces

   Jack Ma once said: "What is talent? Talent is someone who, when you ask them to do a task, they do it well, and when you ask them to do another task, they do it well again." This left a deep impression on me and has become my motto. I believe life is like building a building; every seemingly ordinary small task is an indispensable cornerstone for the future. Once we lay these ordinary bricks and tiles well, one day we will see our own skyscraper. Regardless of the size of the task, doing it well and meticulously requires effort, and with that, you make progress every day.

(3) Maintain the right work attitude

   After two to three years in a job, most people become skilled, and at this point, they often fall into repetitive work. Many may feel bored, and some may think they have figured everything out, thus becoming lazy about seeking improvement. But in reality, the competition is just beginning. Doing complex things simply makes you an expert; doing simple things repeatedly makes you a specialist; doing repetitive things with care makes you a winner. Therefore, we must maintain a good work ethic and the correct work attitude, rationally handle various issues at work, and we will find the peak of our careers.

(4) Enrich your knowledge base

   When I first joined the technical department, I was not particularly familiar with the company's products and lacked various skills. I quickly worked to recharge myself, enrich my knowledge, and get into the work state as soon as possible, making my work smooth. Because a technician with comprehensive knowledge can easily get started, has strong adaptability and responsiveness, and can quickly get into the zone when facing the same difficult problem. Moreover, the most important thing is that with a broader knowledge base, the ways to solve problems are not so narrow.

(5) Heaven rewards the diligent; opportunities are always reserved for those willing to change

    The more things you do, the more mistakes you might make. However, people often change and grow through making mistakes. If you do nothing, you may avoid some trouble for now, but in reality, you lose opportunities to exercise, to discover your own problems (character flaws, knowledge blind spots), to correct shortcomings, and to grow. Therefore, you need to learn to use external forces to change yourself. The harder you work, the luckier you become.

(6) Identify your shortcomings at work

    Through this period of engineering practice, I have also deeply realized my own deficiencies, and there are many technical aspects that need to be strengthened and improved. Especially in how to better serve customers, think more from their perspective, and strive to improve technical service levels. Another aspect is that my knowledge system is not yet complete, and I still need to gradually accumulate through future learning and practice to enhance my overall technical capabilities.

    In one's career, it is also a process of continuous tempering and accumulation. The work skills and experience gained during this period, besides directly acquiring professional knowledge and improving theoretical technical knowledge from books and online information, more importantly, come from other information gained through project practice that can benefit us for a lifetime, thereby continuously improving ourselves at work.
